Nigerian entertainers have undoubtedly made their mark on the African entertainment scene, and to recognise their efforts, the maiden edition of the Cameroon Entertainment Awards has nominated a select list of Nigerian stars in its awards.
Nollywood divas, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Stella Damasus, and ‘bad boy’ Jim Iyke have all been nominated in the PAN African actor/actress category of the awards.
They were nominated alongside Ghana’s John Dumelo and Majid Michel.
Pop duo Psquare have also been nominated for ‘PAN African Artist of the Year’ alongside their Konvict Music boss Akon. Others in the category include Awilo Longomba, Fally Ipupa, Viviane Ndour and Patience Dabany.
The Cameroon Entertainment Awards was created ‘to comprehensively recognize Cameroonian entertainers from all over the world, both English-speaking and French-speaking as well as encouraging talents while nurturing them to an internationally-rated standard’.
The Maiden Edition of the CEA Awards will take place at The prestigious Cramton Auditoriun in Howard University in DC, July 28, 2012.
Footballer Samuel Eto’o, Lez Nubians, and Roger Milla are among the honourees to be recognised for their achievements in the round leather game.
